The
City of Elizabeth City is centrally located in northeastern North
Carolina, midway between New York and Florida and between Hampton Roads
to the north and the Outer Banks to the east. The city is on the
Pasquotank River and is an attractive stop for boaters on the Albemarle
Sound and the Intracoastals Waterway.
The Elizabeth City Area offers a variety of visitor experiences from water sports and beaches, to biking, paddling, pedaling, and birds. There are great places to eat, wonderful museums, and attractions for the whole family. It is also a wonderful place to stay and relax while seeing the whole region during day trips. Within easy driving distance are North Carolina’s Outer Banks, Virginia Beach, historic Edenton, exciting Busch Gardens, and 18th-century Williamsburg.
